Ingredients
Refried Bean Ingredients
- 2 tbsp refined avocado oil or any kind of cooking oil
- 1/3 cup white or red onion chopped
- 1 clove garlic peeled and minced
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp chili powder
- ½ can black beans or pinto beans drained and rinsed
- 2 tbsp water

- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tbsp refined avocado oil or any kind of cooking oil

In a medium frying pan or cast iron skillet, sauté oil and onion until soft and slightly brown.

Add garlic, cumin, salt and chili powder. Continue to sauté for an additional minute.

Add drained beans and water. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Reduce the heat and remove the lid.

Transfer fried beans to a food processor, add the remaining sauce ingredients and blend until a thick sauce is formed.

Serve with tortilla chips, on tacos or burritos.
