Have you ever heard of an elixir? If not, check out my latest post, What Is An Elixir.
Living in Alberta, where winters typically start in November, I usually start to crave this warm beverage as the seasons change. I have had my fair share of Starbucks Peppermint Mocha’s in the past but let me tell you, Starbucks has nothing on this gut loving, brain boosting elixir. This warm, blended beverage is a mixture of blended herbs, cacao and fats which result in a creamy dairy free latte with no sugar. However, if you prefer your beverages to be on the sweeter side, try adding a couple drops of stevia, a few teaspoons of monk fruit (a low caloric sweetener), pure maple syrup, coconut sugar or raw honey. My preference is to enjoy the rich, bold taste of the cacao without any sweeteners.
