My name is Olivia Ward and I’m so happy you made it to LivNourished.

What is LivNourished?
Since I was in elementary school my friends have called me Liv, so what better than to incorporate this into my passion of inspiring you to nourish your body, mind and soul, on a holistic level to fully “LivNourished”.
I’m the blogger, food creator and intuitive behind LivNourished, a holistic wellness space that inspires you to tap into your intuition to discover the root cause of your alignments and to learn how to balance your body through simple, nutrient dense foods, energetic balancing and mindfulness.
I’m a creator (hence this blog, recipes and food photography), a researcher (I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Nutrition and am a Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultant), a facilitator ( I love hosting workshops in Alberta, Canada) and an intuitive (I love reiki, crystals, flower essences and meditation).

What brought me here?
My passion for nutrition and holistic health started when I was in my second year of college. I had put on an extra 40 pounds and was feeling extremely insecure. With no knowledge of the human body or other imbalances that could have been going on, I decided that I wanted a quick fix to lose the extra weight. I started a crash diet where I traded the extra 40 pounds that I loathed for a plathora of other symptoms… hair loss, constipation, digestive issues and flaky, red patches on my face. It was then that I realized that my body was speaking to me and telling me “hey, pay attention, there is something else going on that you need to see”. I booked an appointment with a Naturopathic Doctor that helped me get to the root of these imbalances. This experience awakened me to realize that my weight was never a problem, my weight was a symptom of other imbalances in my body, along with a lack of self-love and acceptance for how my body was changing.

My mission
This profound enlightenment led me to start researching holistic nutrition and changed my career path. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Food Science and Nutrition degree and the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition with my Holistic Nutrition designation. Shortly after, I started LivNourished as a platform to share my alternative food creations because of my own food sensitivities to gluten and dairy and to work with clients one-on-one. As I started to dig deeper into holistic modalities and learning about my client’s experiences with their healing journeys, I soon realized that our health is not only dependent on nutrition. It is so much more than just the food we eat, it’s dependent on our thoughts, experiences, feelings, stress, energy and environment. This is why I am so passionate about incorporating a holistic approach when I work with clients one-on-one and sharing a holistic view through my online presence.
I am grateful for my struggles, my healing and journey it has led me down. This is why my mission is to help you listen to your body, become your own best advocate, tap into your intuition and to help you simplify and navigate your wellness journey.

Aside from being a health advocate and foodie, I live on an acreage near Edmonton, Alberta with my husband and our fur baby, Nova. I love growing my own food, drinking herbal infused elixirs, driving the tractor, asking my pendulum for guidance and being in nature. I am a wild dreamer, seriously I have some of my greatest ideas and visions through my dreams. I’m so grateful to have a supportive, open minded family that lives close by and I seriously LOVE dark chocolate.
